we have been looking into what we need to do to pursue this further, and are going to the next step.

we sat our kids down last night and had a chat with them, two lads aged 11 and 14, and explained what we wanted to do, they always have there mates round and have them staying over aswell. told them that its not the childs fault but the parents who are to blame, and the kids need to be taken away for there own safety. they seemed cool with that we also explained that nothing would change towards them and any child who came would be treated just the same as our kids are. so we are going to pursue this and get in touch to set the wheels in motion.

Not posted for a long time so i thought i would give an update,

we have now completed all of our training and had countless visits from the social workers, and within the next 5 or 6 weeks we should be going to 'panel' to be approved as a foster family.
the social workers have said that they cant see any reason for us not to be approved for fostering so i think i better start clearing the spare bedroom out

I must admit Grum that i had the same thoughts,
with having 2 boys of my own aged 15 and 12 ,we have drawn a list of questions that need to be asked before we will accept placement.
                            things like
if its a girl, is she promiscuous
or have they any history of violence or arson
lots of little questions like these are needed to protect my own family as they have got to come first
if the child needing a placement doesnt meet all the questions that we have then we will have no choice but to refuse them for our own safety,
i know this may seem a bit harsh to some people but my family has to come first and the cases we have read about do raise lots of concerns regarding the protection of your own children

                            as regards Andy C

arent we all just big kids with more expensive toys lol
