I know its not the nicest subject but i was thinkin about this today as ive had a couple of mates pass away recently and it got me thinkin my sons are too young and would rather have the garage as a play den anyway .
Was talking to my missus about this the other week
I said to her if i die dont just sell the car to anyone for peanuts make sure it is some enthusiast who will appreciate the car , as we have no kids i have not really got any one to hand it to
So if i suddenly go i dont want you lot off here offering her a few quid for "that old knackered escort in the garage"
It's a very important point if your wife has no real knowledge of value and there is no close reliable friend or relative who does. Almost everyone will have acquaintances who would be able to get full value but you have to consider whether, with their no doubt busy lives, you could reasonably expect that category of person (or maybe even fully trust them) to deal with it properly for free. You may have to recognise that asking them to do it for a percentage of the value is the only realistic way. Then you have to consider the implications of continued temporary storage if your demise would result in your wife/partner having to sell the house for any reason. Written instructions are advisable - do it now!
