Well i know i am going to be the odd one out hear but i am not really a concourse sort of lad :bom: dont get me wrong i do like a tidy looking car but more than anything i like to use them for what they where built for and thats driving (whatever the weather)the reason i say this is that my mate has got a totally mint series 1 RS Turbo and he is scared to drive it incase he gets a stone chip or some dirt on it and for me they are about driving and not just looking at in your garage and i just think the more you concourse them the less you will want to drive it so there is what i think anyway.

You've put it in a nutshell there Tara - well said mate!! I'm getting like that with my Mexico, and though not concours, I get really paranoid about stone chips, muck etc after all what I've spent. That's why this summer I am planning to run it for a few months as my runabout.

I would advise build a nice minty motor and keep it that way - the fun is in the upkeep and maintenance is it not as much as anything else!!?? Concours just turns ya loopey if ya ask me...

you have gone this far paul, you may as well finnish the job, but get a second car, after you sell all the parts you didnt need, when the job is complete. then you'll have one to drive and one to show. i couldnt have only one car and not be able to drive it.

Do what the good Ford intended when they built the thing. Drive it hard and sideways...........The grin factor will always outdo the "Trophy" Factor

                              Hi Paul,
I have spent fortunes on mine getting it concours condition, not to enter it into concours competition, but purely for my own pleasure. I have modified it also, to suit me! Cannot be arsed with all the politics that goes with concours. Do what you want to do, the value will increase anyway with all your new parts. The main thing is enjoy it!
