Pirelli CN36

Contacted Pirelli yeterday about running a batch of classic CN36's , had a reply today, had already spoken to the company they suggest, they can do a CN36 in 15". Have asked Pirelli re a lead time for a batch and also to consider the Courier Sports, it would appear they do run off batches of classic tyres and if you don't ask who knows ...

Thank you for your interest in Pirelli and specifically the Pirelli Cinturato CN36. This is a specialist tyre and is no longer a tyre which is stocked or produced by Pirelli on a regular basis. As with all of our classic and Vintage tyres we do, from time to time, make small batches. However, having checked with our production department we do not appear to be making any of these tyres in the next 6 months.

In order to help you source Classic tyres at a competitive rate I would suggest you contact Longstone Tyres based in Bawtry on Tel: 0044 (0)1302 711123. They are our official dealer for classic tyres and I am sure they will be happy to help you.

My suggestion is as many as possible contact their approved retailer and ask via email for a run of 175/70/13 CN36's , if they see there is a market who knows ??

won't that rather send the prices up if the supplier sees there is a lot of people wanting CN36s, as there are no new ones and seeing there is a "demand" I would think they'll try to knock out the current supply for as much as they can get. Then say sorry sold out and knock on Pirelli's door for another batch.

great idea paul, tried this a couple of years ago with a reputed vintage tyre supplier local to me, didnt get very far tbh, but they did say they needed a huge request to actually see if it was viable to reintroduce the tyre

There isn't a current supply, what we need to show is there is a demand for this tyre in this size, perhaps they will then consider running a batch if their approved supplier tells them there is a market.

got to agree with paul at least he's trying to do something positive ,if you dont ask you dont get as for the price i am sure most of the guys on here would pay the right price if available.well done paul and good luck mate

but would it not be better getting everyone on here who would like a full set & the sose site as well as the rsoc & any others then approach them with
say we need approx ( for figure of speach) approx 35 full sets = 175 tyres

say at £50 quid a tyre = £8750.00 not to be sniffed at

i reckon there would be more wanted

as some of you know, i make tyres for pirelli.
many years ago i had a good rumage through all the old moulds in the factory up here. all the small moulds were long gone. in the uk now, we only make 16" up to 23" tyres. the smaller sizes are made in spain. unless the cn36 moulds(which were then converted to make the courier sport cn lookalike) are stashed somewhere in europe, i would not hold your breath. last time i asked, the price of a new mould was £350k + . your best bet may be getting a small independant tyre maker to remake them, under license from pirelli ?
