is there a general consensus on what is the best tyre available at the moment and also in what size, tyre wear is not really an issue, just looking for the best performing tyre in all round conditions for road use
Yokohama A048's in soft compound are brilliant . We can do sub 5 sec 0-60's on them in an old escort . They cost approx £180 for 2 with fitting

Avon CR500 rubber is good as well , they are fitted to the new Caterham superlight R500 and come in various 13 inch sizes . A bit pricey these though at £300 for 2

Well it's a personal choice but these are the best = Yoko A048 or A032 , Avon CR500 or toyo R888 . All top notch rubber and wear out in a weekend !!!!!!!!

Toyo Proxies R888 worked superb at Croft and on The Lakes Tour for me
Same here mate, Used them at Croft last year and again on sunday .There about dead now like(did out last the engine tho) Mine are 205/60X13 on a 8inch rim.
