  • SKC - The Autopsy !

For those that didnt know I suffered an "early bath" at about 12:30 on Sunday at Croft

After a sedate day on the Saturday on track I continued on the Sunday

I took Cossie (1 thing you must do before you die ) Si round track and upon return to the pits the engine gave a deathly rattle and made some weird banging knocking etc etc

I turned engine off and called it a day

Sorry to the lads queing up for charity rides

p.s. Hope Gaz "FoMoCo" enjoyed his ride out ?

Well tonight I have been down the unit expecting the worse

Before I removed any engine parts covers etc I decided to run engine

The noise was horrendous but the engine revved as good as new and ran at idle perfectly

Put the car on ramp and found 2 holes blown out of manifold/down pipes - see pic below took using a mirror !

Tried welding but thought sod it and am going to see Mr Ashley tomorrow for a new manifold.

Ah well back to 8000+ rpm at Combe on Saturday - yyyeeehhhhaaaaaa

Oh that was when the throttle linkage failed on that particular recovery - lol

Funny as fork when the recovery driver described which way he was going to get back to the pits I said to him

"dont worry I will just follow you !"

Cossi Si couldnt help but laugh - lol
