  • Why dont owners ever read their car manuals !

Had a right tw*t book his VW Golf GTi in today for diagnosis on a warning light.

He said his electronic tyre pressure or traction control warning system was faulty

So £45 later I quickly solved his problem - lol

I checked all his tyre pressures and pressed and held the tyre pressure warning lamp switch to reset it - JOB DONE

All explained in the owners handbook

Hope the owner wasn't complaining about MPG or asking about tuning for 'economy rather than performance?'...

I did a similar thing a couple of years ago. Took my Corsa to a friends garage because an orange warning light came on. He connected it up to his computor and no faults found. He then asked me to show him which warning light it was. When I showed him he fell about laughing. He eventually stopped laughing enough to tell me the problem was the rear fog lights were on. I must have hit the switch with my knee getting into the car. I have never felt such a prat in all my life.
To make matters worse we are both members of the same motor club and boy did I get some stick.
The moral of the story read the handbook befor going to the garage.

                    Phil.

I translate manuals for Mercedes and they do treat customers like total tw@ts
"To turn on the light, turn the light switch"

                            I kid you not

I don't think I'd read my manual if it contained sentences like that.

VW aren't much better, they keep inventing terminology, bast@rds

I know what you mean but some manuals are written in such a way that only nuclear scientists can understand em !
