  • Alloy, steel or fibre glass arches

The rs is getting arches this winter but im trying to decide between forest arches or the really wide monte carlo. the latter have it at the mo but steel or alloy. will alloy get damaged to easy as i only have a small garage and could get knocked easily. Any photos of coned 2000s with arches wouldbe greatfully recieved. remember its my car and it may not float your boat but i like them and have allways wanted them. rally look is the nuts

Ford actually considered fitting 'forest' arches to the RS2000 mk2 as early as 1974 when at design stage, the enclosed pic is one of the design concept photographs (rarely seen, but a content of the elusive briefcase )

no doubt a few others will post some RS2000's cars with arches, however hope this helps,

those with a keen eye will notice some other Subtle differences to the RS in the picture,

was further browsing through the Briefcase (there is still many years reading to do) and came across the enclosed Hand written (obviously someone from boreham) which is not only a usefull piece of history but might assist in your fitting,

apologies the quality is poor, it has been tucked away for the best part of 34/35 years

what is clear is that there were certainly plans to fit arches to mk2 RS 2000 at some point otherwise the above would not have been produced,
additionally, i have the same details in a book here somewhere, will have a look
