  • Deep Regret !!

    hello chaps !

its with deep regret that im having to sell my Rs2000 ! most of you have followed the cars restoration on the basket cases section and have seen the amount of work ive put into rebuilding the car . i was offered the chance of promotion in my job and sat the interview last thursday ! i got the call yesterday that ive got it wich is fantastic for my future . i will have to spend time away from home in the new role at least two days per week so just wont have the time to finish the RS . i didnt want people to think ive had enough etc wich can happen with a restoration ! thats not the case . if the car was done i would never sell it but i dont want it to sit in my garage for years unfinished . The selling time will be in a month ! i want the car shell all in primer so its ready for paint , the shell will be complete and finished and the car will come with all the replacement parts ive bought and belive me ive spent thousands !! i will post an advert on here and see what intrest i have then will put it on ebay has last resort ! would rather this go to a genuine enthusiast who loves Rs2000s ! ive thought long and hard since last thursday and know i wouldnt find another in the future unless i pay big money but my minds made up ! its a 1977 pre custom all original and not modified in anyway ! Thanks john

          gutted

i knew all you lads would be on leaving your comments and i thank you for them ! i need at least three solid months on the car to finish it but just wont have that time ! i had two weeks off work in the last month to get stuck in but it took that long getting the doors bonnet and boot lid down to bare metal !! i just dont have the time . ive got three daughters under the age of fourteen so being away in the week and then spending my weekends on the car wouldnt go down to well .

if your getting a promotion bang it off to one of the escort specialists eg Mr Hoarder to finish off for you, then you get the best of both worlds knowing all the work you done on it wasnt for nowt

good luck in the sale if you feel thats the only way, it will be a gorgeous car, broadstripe in white is top of the tree
              Cheers Glyn

                glyn

it stands me at seven grand now glyn ! so giving it to someone to finish would be another three at least so ive got to be realistic ! thing is when people buy these cars they strip them anyway and rebuild so at least with mine all the hard works been done ! and ive hunted for parts for six months !! so none of that for them to do either .

Nice one on the promotion John, shame about the car,

as a group of parts it wont make the money youve put in to it, /here/ebay the parts to try to make your money back

Good news on the job front ........but bad news on the RS front .

can't you put off selling the RS maybe for 2 months or so to see how the job pans out, but at the end of the day only you can make the choice that is correct for you.

I would hang on to it if I were you, even if it means putting it away for a year.

Good luck with the new job.
