the more you think about i the worst your confidence will be

just get on and do it

i found that to drill the pilot hole for the large hole cutter itself first was easier - also place a nice block of wood (with a piece of carpet) between the bonnet and slam panel to stop vibration and also for the fact that when you do "go through" with the large cutter it acts as a break when it jolts through

last thing, when the holes are cut, use the U shaped bracket to help position for the slam panel hole - place the bracket flush under the bonnet and pencil mark through the hole and onto the slam panel; if you fix the "tap" first and judge the arc sweep on the tap to the panel, you'll probably be a little out on the slam panel ie it will make the hole larger than you think

i allowed for the sweep of the tap as in the photo, so thats why the hole is oval to the actual locking hole on the bracket under the panel

I agree, don't go for em myself, possibly the only Escort panel that doesn't self disintegrate, the RS 2000 bonnet.

Will probably give it to Scott to do

Then I can blame someone else if it all goes wrong
