was into bike racing (well, Barry Sheene anyway) as a kid, music in big way, with guitars, louder the better... had a grifter then a bomber with the cowhorns, could wheelie it all day!!! only interested in playing with things with wheels n engines....from bikes to artics! by the time I was 17 I WAS Ari Vatanen, on the local back roads, luckily, I got away with it
Come to think of it, what's new?

Bikes..... I used to ride the local one regular.
Smoking & cars all at the age of 14... Swopped my cousin a pair of Trainers & £19 for my first car, a Mk3 Cortina, Black with lightening conducters hanging off the back bumper, Flashing brake lights & a massive rear spoiler.... The lock ups where I kept it were an oval.... could hang the arse end out all the way round.
Used to go carol singing until we had enough for 4 cans of special brew each, partly influenced by the song. Go round our mates give him a can & smoke all his home grown.
By the age of 16/17 could get into the pubs.... remember the first video jukeboxes coming out... Got into bikes motor type this time, started working on American cars.
Stopped drinking once I got my licence, much preffered driving smokey & the bandit style Trans Ams & Knight rider style firebirds..
Used to go to Bilston town hall (Custom will know where this is) on a Saturday night, as much Ska, Madness, Specials, Reggae & UB40 as you could want.... It was about the same time (21 years ago now) I bought my first Mk1 Escort YDT 820G an Anchor blue 1300 sport with rostyles & dash mounted rev counter... only had a 2 week gap without an Escort since.Mark....

I used to be in a local display team doing shows and stuff.
Weekends we'd go to Southport where there was an old quarter pipe and meet up with Mike Pardon and Andy Preston and occasionally Terry Jenkins, dya remember them.
Remember Neil and Andy Ruffell and Craig Campell
Wonder what they're all doing now ?
Agh those were the days
RIPCheers

I used to play football with Pepi, loads of talent but got easily distracted by some of his less pleasant mates
I Remember either Andy Preston or Andy Ruffell had a brand new XR4i when he was only 18 or 19 and brought it up to Carlisle one weekendCheers

i was bmx mad as a kid, raced from 6yrs old to 15 then got in to motox. got a sponsorship from cw racing for a year or so,all they gave me was a frame and forks and the gear but i thought i was it,found this recently left in a box from far to many years before,my 83 quadangle.happy days .
Pepi died last year. His life story is not for here, but was a sad one
RIP[/quote]
