First may I thank on behalf of the whole Cumbria group, everyone who attended the Cumbria RSOC Show at Heaves Hotel. THANK YOU ALL.
Despite the problems with catering, we have had excellent feedback regarding our show last weekend. We were simply overwealmed by people and were caught totally off guard by the sheer number of people who were in attendance. Thank you for being patient and understanding and we will be working with the both the hotel and other catering companies to make sure it runs smoother in the future.
The Lakes tour was a huge success. No serious breakdowns to report and only one small bump! This wouldn’t of happened if they knew where they were going!!! The grass area in front of the hotel was sublime with what I can only call ‘Escort Heaven’. A most impressive turnout – the best ever?
A special thank you must go to the amazing RS1800 & X-Pack display. Well done Dave, Grum & the owners for getting so many together in one place.
Lots of you traveled from far and wide, we really appreciate you making the effort to come to the show, especially the guys from over the pond - we will see you in a few weeks on your own turf!
The campsite was left clean & tidy. Thank you for putting the rubbish in piles/binbags, it made our life a lot easier once you had departed.
The Cumbria RSOC Local Group will make a donation to Southern Convoy Charity from the sale of the Start Banner & the Raffle.
Websites to purchase photographs (from both on the start gate and on the tour) are currently in development and will be released soon.
The Lakes Tour would not be the Lakes Tour without all of your support to which we thank each and every one of you. Big thanks to RETROFORD for sponsoring the tour and all the photographers on the route. We eagerly await the bumper magazine issue that will be due out in the coming months. Many thanks to the WORKS TEAM and to SOSE for there support on both websites. It goes without saying, but thanks to Miles and Catherine and all the staff at the Heaves Hotel. Thanks to Grum for doing the Photo Competition. Let the Old Skool move onward and upward – here’s to 2009 bigger and better. 300 cars on tour???
