  • What car to buy.

    Hi,i am needing a economical car for running back and fore to work 40 miles per day and i am looking at a 1996 wv passat tdi 110 with 135 000 miles on it and 1995 vw golf tdi gl with 113 000 miles on it and just wondered what people on here thought was best and if anyone has any performance info on the golf id be keen to hear it as i cant find much such as 30-70 , 50-70 and torque and so on,any info or opinions appreciated thanks.

      Either, both good cars. Depends on how much space you need. Both over priced and expensive to repair. Buy a Focus TDCI

        I bought a 2002 mondeo estate with 96K on it and its great 40-50 mpg 140 tax and lower insurance group also cheaper to buy parts for

          Focus is too expensive to buy in the first place but i know there good and would have one if i had the money.

            A Bloke At Work As A Golf Tdi And He Had It Chipped Its Now 185 Bhp And Pulls Like A Train And Hes Getting 45/50 Mpg Ask Taffr Hes Been In It Cheers

              I have the 150 PD Golf GTi and had it chipped to 204bhp, Goes like stink and does over 50mpg regularly. Best tip is to get the 115PD and chip that. Responds superbly to it.

                Buy a Skoda Octavia. Same as the the Passat but a fraction of the price
