  • Lacquer Or Not

I NEED SOME MORE FRIENDLY ADVICE,
IM HAVING MY WHEELS POLISHED AND PAINTED. ONCE DONE DO I HAVE THEM LACQUERED OR NOT

if there 4 spokes and polished alloy on the rim most definitley not, Laquer will never stick properly to polished alloy and will flake and fall off over time, you just need a tube of autosol handy

if there all painted, then up to you depending on how shiny you want them

Yeah, theywill come back shiny, however the elements will get at them eventually and start oxidising, autosol is the best out there!, and no to laquer as alloy wheels are porous, so full of pit holes, if then laquered your trapping moisture, and you will start seeing like a white blooming under the laquer, which makes the wheels look awful

I use brosso/duraglit, was told autosol is an abrasive although I had used it for many years with good results
