LAKES TOUR
Friday and Saturday night camping by ticket only.
(STRICTLY FOR LAKES TOUR PARTICIPANTS ONLY)
The Campsite will open from 2pm onwards. Please do not arrive before 2pm. Please do not put any tents up until you have seen me on Friday afternoon.
Car trailers will have to be put in the trailer park (THIS WILL BE PADLOCKED AT NIGHT) and not in the rose garden/show field.
As there will be be a lot of cars on the campsite this year it is important to keep the cars at the top end of Heaves (where you will be camping) If possible one car and tent pitch behind it or to the side of your car.
BBQ'S - please keep them off the ground - place them on a brick or a stand. No open fires!!
There will be bar snacks/drinks available in the Hotel on Friday evening from 7.00 pm. Please keep the campsite tidy - see me if you need a bin bag - a skip is provided for rubbish but take home what you can.
Water is available up on the left hand side near the hotel.
I must stress that on Sunday morning any tents that are on or near the show field must be removed by no later than 8.30am.
SATURDAY MORNING
ITINERARY:
The main gate of the Heaves will be closed to all traffic Saturday morning only(FOLLOW ARROWS) There will be a one way system in operation with cars entering at the top entrance then forming a queue round by the garden centre down the drive past the hotel then onto the start ramp.
I will be issuing tour packs from 8.00am. Cars will be set off on the Tour from 8.30am.
ALL cars on the tour MUST have a rally plaque displayed on the front of the car BEFORE you drive up to the start tent. Plaques will be available in the pack you will collect from signing on. Any cars not displaying the plaque will not be allowed to start the tour.
We told you all last year, try not to run in large convoys as it draws attention and it is bad for taking photographs, stick to groups of 5/6 cars if possible.
Please be careful out there as some of the roads are a bit narrow with no fences. Keep a look out for wandering sheep roaming out onto the road. (do not stop taffr) Some of the junctions will be signed but all the information is in the road book supplied.
Please help a fellow tour entrant if you come across one broken down, hopefully most of you will have some spares with you.
Above all we hope you have a very enjoyable day in your old skool ford. There will be a trophy for ‘spirit of the tour’ which will be awarded to the one tour entrant who puts his all into the spirit of the tour.
On your return to the Heaves Hotel in the afternoon, I will be parking all the cars up in order again in front of the Hotel on the left hand side large grass area simalar to last year (weather permitting) This was the highlight of the tour for me last year to see all the cars parked together and was just brilliant. Lets see if we can have a bigger & better display this year.
The buffet will be served in the Hotel at 7.00pm tickets for the buffet will be in the tour pack. There will be a raffle and prize presentation at 8.30pm.
Tom-toms and sat nav's are banned !!!
