Been running a GTiTDi Golf for 5 years now. Best car I've ever had. Been mapped to 204bhp HUGE torque and still get over 50mpg £120 tax per year as well. Will never buy another petrol car for everyday use again as the Dieseld just kill them.

I have the same car as you Taffr (same colour too!)
I had it chipped to 160 bhp and it now does more to the gallon.
Just been to Yorkshire and back round trip of 650 miles car averaged 61.8 to the gallon and it has 154000 miles on the clock, never had to top up the oil yet!!
I'm thinking of getting a newer one got rid of my wife's Mini Cooper S as it did 17 yes 17 around town and only 25 on a run.
She now has a Grande Punto Sporting this does about 37 in town and 55 on a run.(she hates it though)

Changed from an A4 to the Mondeo ST early this year. Got twice the car for my money, full of every extra you could ever want and goes well too. Really liked the Audi, just got fed up paying through the nose to have 4 rings on the bonnet of an Passat or Boro or whatever the same VW car is.
