The paint is its original paint and was starting to show signs of age with little marks starting to appear under the surface. After talking to the painter was decided that it would be easier and better in the long term to do a full outer paint job. The car is for keeps so glad that I have a nice solid shell with a nice thick layer of paint being applied.

Reskin the roof and chuck the plastic crap in the bin. Proper Escorts do not have sunroofs or tacky plastic covers.
