Prices

Good second hand parts for MK2 Escorts I believe are still plentyful and can be picked up for reasonable money. The problem is everybody wants new.

I have so many s/h parts still stored from years ago when cars were ten a penny. When somebody is looking for something and they dont mind if it is used I can usual help. (I have long binned scrap unuseable items)

Without blowing my own trumpet many of the people on this BB have had good parts and advice from me. Some people had had them for nothing and at my expense. I could quite easily put everything on Ebay and say if you need it bid because thats what its worth.

I am a regular guy with a regular job with a long term passion for the MK2 Escort in all forms. If anybody on here needs a part I am willing to help as always if I can.

The supply and demand for MK2 RS cars and the parts that maintain them is a fact of life. Scrap yards dont cater for us anymore and the likely hood of part shortages will grow as time moves on. It is not cost effective yet to mass produce new.

We should be happy that this BB exists and understand we all have something to offer. Debate is good and an open forum a benefit to us all.

I personally think the MK2 RS is at a all time high. Long may it continue.

I too have a few used bits and a couple of new things very small items, eg new chrome boot lock and two keys with id tag never been fitted but no box either.

have quite a few bits of black steering cowels in various condition spare indicators and some of the hadrian repair panels (not suitable for a nice car) good for a track or rally job if needed

New rear grooved Bremsport drums look nice, solid disks, good sachs front legs need inserts. front calipers work but could do with refurb "imo" brown clock pod good, clock works but not a great time keeper

I have had a few bits and bobs off Joe when parts have been needed, often at less than 'the going rate'

he is very knowledgeable and helpful at all times and I wish to see more people like him on this board willing to help and preserve just for the love of it and not the profit.

seriously though i will become a member as soon as - as they say membership does have its priverlages and i do surport this idea.

This is what an owners club should all be about - giving each other help and surport and the trade in spares etc -LONG MAY IT CONTINUE

I am also a memebr of another very well known one make car club and i feel there is no where near the same input etc from their club members as this one.
