I remeber when I lived in Cardiff that the water rates were fu**ing expensive considering it rained every day.

Doesn't the Birmingham counsel own Elan vally?

Jon, from the position you were in I think the water you tasted was your own!

                          damage

back panel took a big shunt
                          wing from rolling back over
                          dents in the roof
                          exhaust and snapped rack

                          and WET !

PUSHED THE ROOF OUT, Hammered out wing and back panel, new rack and exhaust and off to go ! didnt put a panel on her, then filled and painted it a couple of months later, wanted to wait just in case i did it again very young then !

slightly off topic but to answer the question, Severn Trent Water (Head office is coventry road, Birmingham) service and STW maintain the Elan valley reservoirs and draw their water from there (in addition to other reservoirs)
The Elan valley reservoirs are, as their name implies, firmly in the heart of the Elan valley in good old welsh Wales, but the river Severn is actually sourced in the Plynlimon hills and there are two main reservoirs there Nant y Moch, and also Llyn Clywedog.
maybe of some interest also , if you ever spectate in Hafren forest and approach from the staylittle village, the forest entrance for spectators is via a ford, and here you will see the sign 'Severn breaks it's neck' which has an information board giving details of the source of the river severn and its journey through Hafren forest, and into Newtown.
