Wonder if any of the parts from all these cars will appear at the Spares day at Donnington???? Eyes peeled boys if anyone knows of any special bits that were fitted to any of them.

This is getting out of control now, I'm just lucky I still have mine.

I spent all day digging up the garage floor today as fitting mega security to the garage now.

I find this sickening every time I hear of one of our cars being stolen. It's no different now from how it was in 1987 when my RS was stolen, they are easy to nick and easy to dispose of, and there was no E-Bay then.

These cars continue to be highly desirable, and we need to get our priororities right by concentrating on spending money on securing our cars first, and leaving the fancy parts we want until later.

The standard cars as mine was, are the best bet for thieves, as they are not so identifiable, but in the end all are at risk.

Even fitting your own hidden isolator device or devices can make a difference. The cost is small, and it takes the thief longer to work it out as against a brand device that he can identify.

If you stood back and thought how can I pinch my own car, you can then work out how to prevent it from being pinched.

on OSF it was mentioned that cars could be coming to Ireland on the ferry and sold for rally cars....i just dont believe this to be true or any way factual....even though it was only a suggestion i just dont believe this would happen...there are always escorts for sale here and the community of escort fans & owners would get wind of stolen cars being shipped across....hide your reg plates when showing pics....at shows keep the car well secured etc...most of the cars id say are followed home after a show or meeting & then nicked...how would some peeps know where your car is in a lock up????? dirty scum bags nicking cars.... very sad to see

Was followed in mine when I still lived in Nottingham, Thought it was a little strange when the usual twisty route I take, Had this dodgy 306 following everywhere. I decided to go to a completely different part of Nottingham and just keep driving. In the end he gave up. VERY unnerving.

I've done this myself. When you've had one nice car nicked you can't believe it has happened so easily, and so you then start to be a bit more careful with how you care for it.

If I have someone tailing me that I don't like the look of, I drive well past my home and turn back when I have shaken them off. I also can't take my eyes of it when I park it.

Too many of these cars go missing and we have to change our attitudes towards looking after them, and who we speak to. Some of these cars are mint, and it is terrible to think that they could be used for rallying or simply broken up.

I was speaking to a person the other night who I had never met before, and he could tell me all about the various RS's in the area, and where they were all located. This is ok amongst friends who we trust, but he did not know me and I would not have liked him to tell everyone about my car and where it is located, because you just don't know where the info is going to go!

The thing with OSF is anyone who sounds Irish in there eyes is out to pinch your car, very said how they tar one group of people this way.
I rarely go onto OSF anymore as its very clicky.

be carefull putting photos on the board of your car outside your house!
I guess people:winka: who steel these cars know their value in bits and use these boards to try and locate easy steels

                            OSF is far from clique!

We're just looking at all options that includes monitoring ferryports to see if they do end up going that way!

You may think it's tarring all Irish with the same brush, but one of the key suspects is a middle to large build grey haired Irish man driving a burgandy 4x4 who has enquired about several mk1s & mk2s around the area where some of these cars have gone missing.
Turning up at peoples houses, garages, down alleyways around their properties & possibly following one owner down the road for around 5 miles until he got paranoid about being followed & floored it to get away
