just got the head and cam done,finished it tonight,sound like a talbot horizon!!!!!!
i have had new everything in and on the head,all is set to spes in haynes man!
any ideas guys!
im realy starting to loose heart in this.

Then i think there may be wear on the followers!!

have you got the longer follower studs if they are too short the top end will rattle, unless you only have std valves ? and std followers but the valves are a different length

hard to explain, but I have a biggish cam with 2mm longer valves and std follwers, but when it would not stop rattling, the 2nd engine builder told me I had the wrong studs for the rest of the gear as the geometry was all wrong,

interesting comment about the valves being too long?? could be an avenue to investigate? just a bit of a bummer as top end freshen up was supposed to cure the rattles, but to be honest i didnt think it was that bad eddie. don't throw too much at it unnecessarily, make sure who ever looks at it knows their way round a pinto blindfolded
