    it makes me mad!

went on line and filled in a adrian flux form.. diclosing all mods (everthing incl lsd, full engine spec and suspension) and stated its not garaged and not alarmed but will have cat 1 or 2 if the underwriters state a type or model.
gets quote back, 5000miles per yr... fully comp 41yr old.......£225

    thought get in

called lancaster.. diclosed all mods as above . came back £298, but....BUT said 10000/ yr ...no alarm required, european cover and legal fees they asked more questions, but id rather be 100% covered, dont want them riggling out, if i claim etc

goes back to a flux, on the phone 25mins... sorry we have miss quoted you it should be £478

phones lancaster up, sorry we will have to pass it back to the underwriters as you did not accept the quote this afternoon... "but it should be ok in the morning" when its passed again

    WTF... 2Hhrs had passed????
Is £298 a good price? car is covered for £9000. with 2.1 all steel, stg 3 head ,cam 45:s exhaust, filters
non std alloys, 5 speed, modified suspension all round, big brakes...

will do... the thing that gets me is how the two companys are so different in what they regard as risk... Cat 1 is useless on an escort, but i would of thought a cat 2 would of been a minimum requirement? and then theres the mods, lancaster were very detailed and fluxes were very vague?

and they were aware that this is not my regular drive, so i had no, no claims

my main hike in price i think is the, not garaged bit , and the 2.1 all steel bit

still, gone with lancaster, at least ive named every mod, and got legal cover, green card, recovery, 10k per year £100excess and £50 windscreen.

still waiting for heritage to ring back, too late now, but i run my own business and trading standards would have my balls if i courted work by giving false prices
