    took my old rack to be reconed today its a quick rack. asked custom wheres best. he told me try Jaygee in bilston,he said it cost him 20 quid 7 years ago, took it at 10.50 and picked it up at 3.45 and it cost me 25 pounds what a price but wot a service and they cudnt do enough for me . i wud recomend them to any one,

      sounds cheap enough, probly just reshimmed the track arms. Can't have been much for 25 quid. It's alright as long as the rack bushes aren't worn out or the track arms, can't be owt new in there for that money

        Jaygee have been around for years - Spring Road Bilston Nr Wolverhampton

        Steering and Suspension specialists (proper Old Skool repairers and not just "fit new" bolt on bolt off merchants)

        Excellent for refurbing steering rack or steering boxes etc

        They charged me £20 7 years ago to strip check and replace worn bushes on my MKII Escort quick rack

          quite, you don't have to replace with new all the time, but if the track rods are worn they're worn, same as the bushes in the rack. If you're lucky it's just a bit of play which you can reshim, i.e. take shims out, if not then new parts have be acquired and fitted.

          Not hard on a MkII rack, but everything's got it's life and when gone beyond it it's usually major repair or chuck and fit new, the track rods aren't dear but should cost £20 alone
