  • Anybody want an F English tax disc holder?

I took this from a car in a breakers today - it's well worn but it's free to the first sender of a stamped adressed envelope! First come first served!
It's a seventies vintage job as it came from a Vauxhall Victor last taxed in 1979.

was it first registered by English's or Whites?

If registered by F English then at the Poole Rd Branksome site in Dorset surely?

That has just come up in another thread. I don't know when they moved to Poole but I do know they were still at Wallisdown Road when rwd Escort production/sales ended. (and despite the "commercial" tag on the disc holder, it was the car/RS dealership there).

That'll be Poole Rd, Branksome, Poole/Bournemouth Dorset.

They may well have always had a Poole branch but it was Wallisdown Road that had the RS stuff - I remember calling in for an RS parts brochure in 1981 when I hapened to be in Bournemouth years before I lived in Dorset. Wallisdown Road was well on the way to Poole but I'll leave the locals to confirm that - I don't frequent the big city these days and am even less likely to with Bournemouth having two murders on the same street the night of the Sunseeker Rally (not connected with it,unless someone knows better and Rick Smith hasn't been seen since...)
