Guys and Girls,
I had a meeting the other night with a guy called Jason who is co-organising the BHP Performance show at Lydden on the 5th May. Some of you may be aware that the circuit is now run by Amy Doran (the daughter of a fairly well known rally cross driver). They have made a lot of changes to Lydden or the better. One of the key changes that they have made is to start off a show calendar. Being based in the South East, there are very few tracks that are available for us to use for shows etc (I appreciate that I am speaking with my RSOC hat on here).
Anyway, long story short, I have been approached by them to try and help out with their 40 years of the Escort tribute. They seem to think that there is a shortage of MK1 and II Escorts! We know that not to be the case here!
I am looking to guage a response from you on here to see who would be interested in turning up on the day. I appreciate that for some of you it is too far to travel, but that is always the case if you don't live centrally.
I will be getting forms from the organisers directly so that we can see which groups are from which areas.
Would you prefer to do a Rallye Sport Escorts stand or just be a part of the main 40yrs area?
I think that the 40yr part will be doing parade laps at lunch time etc where a club stand won't be able to.
Ticket prices will be about £5 per head or £10 per car (I can't remember which it is). Safe to say - Very Cheap.
It would be great if we could get some of our european bretherein to join us on the day also; especially cosidering it is 20 mins from Dover on the main A2. A nice easy run for them. I have found that we are always so welcome at the european shows, it would be great to offer some hospitality in return.
