  • A CHANGE OF HEART.

Its taken a few days to gather the guts to write this, and not just walk away. As most people know i had commited to Graham Johns car, However after Sundays jaunt to Wales, my time and money, somone pointed in my direction of a 31000mile series one, now i know what your thinking, but i had to look at it. Another trip to the other side of the country and i wasn,t disappointed. a stunning car. I couldn,t say no. I wont mention figures except to say i paid £95 more for the custom series one. With my long term aspirations in my head and the rest in my heart, i had to make a decision. I,m genuinely gutted in a way because after all my words on here, now seem meaningless and hollow, and I apologise to everyone especially Kel for all the words of encouragement that were given.Graham,s car was nice, with a however, and looking back i think i got caught up in the long journey and it being "someones" car, it does need considerable work to bring it to a standard that i would have been happy with, I know Graham would admit to that. As i had said earlier i had owned a B102 ANK years ago, and my heart still yearned a little for one of these again. She really is a lovely car. with warranted mileage, totally original. and hopefully no immediate heartaches. So i know you RWD guys are not really interested in these cars, but there you go. So on a meet sometime if any of you bump into C39 PCN come and have a word, cos all being equal it should be me. take care Ian.

Kel, as i,m sure your aware iv,e got to be politically correct here, Graham,s is very visually appealing, however, look closely and you will start to see what you dont want to see. It would take a lot of time hard work and money and ive been there before 1988 RKK 372M. Daytona Yellow MK 1 rs 2. The series one is th viable option, and what ive given for it, i cant go wrong.

                    Ian,

No shame in owning a series 1 RST i hope you are very happy with it. As the others have stated you have to be satisfied at the end of the day.

                    All the best mate Garth

Kel. I didn,t for a minute think you were digging, as i said ealier, the problem is knowing what you want to do with one on these things, experience has shown me that once you start, you cant stop, im one of these people that knows it has to be right, otherwise your only kidding yourself, i envisaged outer wings, inners, A posts etc etc, although the series one is 18 years old, at least i feel i have a fighting chance, and with only 31k genuine miles it should have with a little tlc, all its life ahead of it. Again I have to say thanks for all the support, not to sure what the forum will be like on the "other" side, we,ll have to see how it goes, In my defence i have to say,and i know its a personal opinion, the series one is a sexy looking car. not too sure whether it will neutrally drift though, i,ll have to wait and see. Ian

Ive tried to phone Graham John everynight this week, he hasn,t returned my call, so i dont know to be honest, i hope he understands where i,m coming from, it was my six hours in the car and forty pounds on fuel.
