  • Exhaust & Manifold rs2000

Hi - can anyone help me out before i make what could be an expensive mistake ! I need to buy a full exhaust system including four branch manifold and an exhaust for my mk1 escort rs2000 but i have the following to consider - i am Keeping a standard servo and it has to be a right hand system as it is 5 linked. Dont think many of the big manifolds will fit ? has anyone got on a 2 1/4" 4 into 1 on with a servo and does it fit okay ? does it catch the standard cross member or is it that close that it melts the engine mountings ? Seen the Janspeed twin box stainless system in another thread and it looks bang on ! is that the best one to get ?

    Thanx in advance

the 2 1/4 manifold won't fit without cutting an angle on the crossmember and the engine mount.and then it still needs a cover over the mount to stop it melting. the servo doesnt normally fit with this either. but i know scott, also called vista on the avo site managed fit his, with a big cut out on the tower bracket.

      Cant comment on a MKI but I have a 2 1/4" 3 piece manifold on a MKII RS2000

I use a standard servo tower (slightly cut away for clearance)

A WCXM and the mount had to be ground away for clearance also

      Hope this helps

i think the inner wings are shaped different on the mk2 to the mk1, mk2's have got a bit more room.( i think)

Thanks guy's ! This must be why so many people go to a remote servo ? but are they any good ? seen kits on e bay for £100 ish but is that the way to go so it allows you to fit a bigger manifold ? then muck around with the engine mountings when its in !

          Thanx

can't be that different, as a mate of mine had a Mk1 RSII with MkII inners fitted and he bought it like it
