Lakes Tour, Whats the m.o

Just been looking at getting things sorted for the tour, but am not sure what or how things are planned to happen, do i need to be there early saturday or is about lunch time ok to catch the tour, or would it be better to come up friday afternoon so we can get to the start line early ?? any information would be helpfull
