as already said yes they do, but please don't do it as they make the wheels look sooooo small and the gearing goes way out.
people only fit 175/50/13's to 7.5 wheels to get them on a std arched car if you have 7's go for ether 195/55/13's or 185/60/13's.

Yo, the minimum width that you're legally allowed to fit to a 7 over here is 205

reason being of course, too much stress on the sidewalls, can all end in tears, be very careful!

probly get away with it but you really don't want the tyre beads being futher out than the tread surface i.e. the tyres looking wedge shaped.

better off with 195s, not only that you just try fitting anything narrower, will take some doing.

Where is "over here" and is that just on 13's or any diameter?

Was wondering because Brooklands 280 Capri's had 7x15 with 195/50/15 as standard.

OMG ive ****ing heard it all now, I recently was involved with the Devon and Cornwall Traffic Police on this same matter, who were trying to prove a local drift car with very narrow tyres on wide rims was unroadworthy, it didnt turn out well as the police based there whole case on the wheels and tyres and the stability of the vehicle being impaired, but of course providing your insurance knows and it passes the MOT then its fine and the case was dropped.

The MOT of course have a different agenda, the tyres must be the same size across an axle, all 4 must be of the same speed rating, no cuts longer than 5mm and no exposed cords, they must be in good roadworthy condition and have suitable air pressure (no flat ones) and finally must not stick out past the extremitys of the arch (heres the trick bit.......... the wheel can but the tyre must not!

Actually there is no law WHAT SO EVER on the tyre fitment subject only guide lines, so lets clear that up straight away, in the eyes of the law providing you have informed your insurance of any modification that deviates from the manufacturers original fitment then you are perfectly legal to drive on the UK roads and further more id be somewhat carefull as to who you listen to on the site as it seems there are some people on here that would have you believe they know what they are talikng about, especially if they start quoting whats legal and whats not!.

I happen to know from many years and 11 Escorts with varying wheel combinations that if you fit 195,55x13 on a standard car they will not rub........ unless its lowered in which case THEY WILL, so the answer to your question my friend is Continental 195/45V13S Contact Sports, they fit all your criteria and look great too.

Sh1t....... I once stretched 175/55x13's over 8" Superlites...... remeber that one STU37025? Wheels stuck out but the tyres didnt, did look daft though!

If I fit 195/45V13S tyres what affect will it have on my speedo & gearing?. Currently I've got 185/60/13 tyres on the car. I've looked at a tyre calculator and its says -46mm -8.33% Diameter difference.

My car is lowered 2" so don't want the 7's rubbing

if this was a reference to any of my comments, see Banishit's comment above.
I was stating the case in Germany, BTW here tyres that are 7 years old must be replaced for the TÜV (MOT) as that is their life expectancy.

You can indeed get away with allsorts according to UK law, whether or not it makes any sense to endanger your and others lives is of course another matter, as I'm sure you're aware, tyre sidewalls are intended to be loaded vertically and not horizontally.

I don't say I haven't taken the odd risk when it comes to motors but when it comes to safety items like brakes and tyres I would give some considerable thought to whether or not fitting of the 7s or having the arches pulled were not better and safer options

I have limited experience of 7's buddy but try this theory:

195 = width of the tyre tread from shoulder to shoulder

45 = Percent of the above

                            13 = Wheel size

So if you have 185's on it now, the rolling circumference difference will be neglegible but the way I would do it would be to measure you arch against you 185's and see if you have enough room for 5mm on top of the existing tyre width between the arch and tyre, remember going up from 185 to 195 is only 5mm wider on each side of the tyre. I work it out to 4mph faster than you are actually travelling, on the speedo.

Alternatively come down and I will fit some and you can try them, always the best way!

                              Very interested in this thread.
I too plan to get the copy 7" wheels that are selling in PLR/JMC.
On my standard RS alloys, I have 185/60/13. Am I right in saying they were originally 175/70/13?
Anyway, I think they look daft when they have 205/60/13, on 7" even on the 6.5".
I have also been told, that 205's are worse handling due to "roll"
So I was thinking of keeping with the 185/60/13 on new 7" stretched that extra half inch, is that ok
