    " Re DVU810T

    Paul
I am Trevor Brian membership no *****

Firstly my congratulations on securing the ownership of this vehicle. I
am pleased that a true enthusiast now owns it.
I was the owner of this vehicle from 1984 to 2007.
This car has actually had three owners if you were the person to buy it
from Andrew Latham. (AL never registerd in his name, I am 3rd on V5 )

    To the vehicle history.
The car was purchased by Dr Phillip Curzons from Quicks in Manchester in
    1979
Mr Curzons had waited for a Custom Model but as the base
arrived earlier he chose to purchase.
The car was then maintained and tuned by ABP in Shavington.
Phil sold the car when he was awarded a company car and decided to build
    a Westfield for weekend use.

I purchased the car in approximately October 1984.

I never really liked the handling as compared to my MK1 Escort which was
road rally prepared with MK1 Mexico Rally Pack suspension.

Hence the bilstiens and stiffer springs and single leave.

In those days I could drive and this car was driven as an Escort should
    be.

1300miles spitting on every RAC until 89 or 1990.

The car was garaged when the need to accommodate two children in comfort
    became the priority.

The vehicle was undersealed from new with Ziebart protection. Completely
filled with Waxoyl in 1984 and repainted underneath with Apexior paint
which was used to coat the internal surfaces of water storage tanks.
It was maintained to the highest standard, simply because my life
    depended on it.

The car spent two years in storage in my garage when I moved house in
    1987.

I used it for work in 1989-1990 and then parked it up on axle stands due
    to family pressures.

The engine block is original and has always had the best in oil and
    better than recommend service intervals.

The head is skimmed but not unleaded, mildly ported. And a new standard
cam fitted at approx 90k, hence the vernier. The engine pushed out 130+ with the Exhaust which is Janspeed and carb mods.
Diff fitted is 3.9 ratio. It used to run short of revs in top. The doors
lifted of the seals at 122 on the speedo.

The box is actually Cortina MK3. I think I still have the original bits
which never got rebuilt. Input shaft bearing was noisy on tick over.

I unwittingly sold the car as my girlfriend said she would be scared to travel in it and Andy (my mate) said that he and his father would love and cherish it because they had always wanted one.

    I made a big mistake.

Just to let you know it was my garage that this car was stored in. I
really hope you enjoy restoring it and get real pleasure from your
    ownership.

Please send me some pictures and make sure it has at least two pages in
    our magazine

    Thanks Trevor "
