Bought the missus a laptop for Christmas.
Its got vista home premium on it, why does it open things you leave your pointer on too long? VERY annoying opening things you don't want, can it be stopped?.
Also other annoying things, "are you sure you want to do this/that" VERY annoying.
Anyone with experience with vista, to turning off these annoying things would be much appreciated.
I'm sticking to xp corp

rubbish, especially the cleartype fonts (fuzzytype for me)

yes you can turn them off, but you cant turn ALL of them off

XP it is for me !

i put vista pro on my lappy & because it's a 64 bit computor theres no bloody drivers out for it yet so i'm back to the trusty xp...

vista on mine too not easy to use if you have used windows xp or an earlier edition , there seems to be loads missing , i hate it

Vista Ultimate here but it's still a ball ache - had to reset all ownership and permissions on all files through all additional hard discs to be able to use it properly which took hhoooooouuuuuurrrrs

Same here but i never used XP, last OS i was using was windows 98 , so im finding this vista thing the bollocks

I'm not doing that, she will have to live with it, never had a pc before, so she will think its the norm.
I got to install some stuff on it, and I have to walk away now and again to cool off
