Just sold a Mk3 on ebay for me naibour cos he was buying a 2Dr Mk1 (G plate), the bloke he was getting it off had his recovery nicked last thursday with the Mk1 on the back 
The old bill chased the truck and in the chase the Mk1 fell off the back into a lamp post
just see the pic of it in the impound yard 
hit roof first at about 50, totaly wrecked the worst bit was this kid who was buying it paid £30 for it cos the bloke with the recovery had to get shot of it to clear his pairents drive gutted cos the kid is only 15 and allways passes on his old projects to me to get rid of i was really looking forward to that as well 
A week before another mates naibour had a Mk1 2door lifted out of his back allyway in dagenham (lifted from a council estate behind his place) by hiab, thats 2 2doors in 2 weeks gone
though i'd cheer you all up with those tails of woe
