is this worth it??

alright people, just joined.
im thinking of buying a mk2 1.6 ghia fitted with a pinto and 5 speed box. the car is a red 5 door from 1980, it has a lot of rs2000 parts like alloys steering wheel, sump, spoiler, and various mounts. the interior seems in not too bad condition too. it is also fitted with strut brace, and anti tramp kit plus some other things to stiffen up the chassis.

the bad points about the car are, no tax, mot, the clutch is stuck on, some of the light dont work, and the car has been sat outside for quite a while.
the guy is wanting 500 quid for it, does this seem like an ok price for it?

im only 21 but love cars and i see this could be a good project for me?

Barn Find !

What a coincidence, a friend and I went to see a 1600 Ghia Barn Find today.....shame it wasn't a Twin-Cam or RS 1600 (Will carry on looking though).

The guy wanted £400-£450 for it. Beneath the straw and grime, there was not a bit of rot. Needs a bit of TLC though. Eventually got it started and she purred !

As Dave Custom mentioned, 4 doors may appreciate soon so my mate may buy it. Just awaiting a call from the Farmer.

I take it that jupiter red came as metalic as this is metalic. I know its hard to tell but its a very pale red under all that grime
