          Agree

          Hi All,

I guess he is just trying to make as much money. I have put stuff up for sale both here first and also on the bay. In one case I took a part of ebay because somebody on here wanted and I did not want them paying too much money.

I also agree with Ruddy here although i have bid on a couple of the items because i want them. Banishit especially and frosty have both either given me or sold me bits for next to **** all. It's what being an enthusiast is all about. I have returned the favour where possible. Would have been nice to have been offered on here first.

I can see why he's doing it, mind you if the bloke hadn't chucked over 40K at the thing (plus the cost of the original car?) then he'd have had money to alleviate his family woes before being forced into a sale.

Fair play to him for trying to recover money, but it doesn't go down too well when he's not given others the chance to get their hands on stuff at a fair price without the Ebay jackals pricing them out of the market

but as others have commented when I mention silly ebay prices, "they put it on there to make the most money, so whats the problem"

certain people flamed me for saying about ebay greed !!

its Ian to sell and thats his choice other things have sat on here without even a mention and then end up being put on ebay

But what price do you put on the bits ?

Go on Ian your reading this all what you think ?

I can see why this has upset some ppl, maybe the parts could of been offered here as a sort of mini auction between the members of the board and if the price reached per item was not to Ians liking then he could have ebayed them,
                    just a thought.

Good luck with the sale of the car, hope you get what your looking for after the time, effort and expense put in to rebuild it.

                      I think Ruddy is right.
I think we have a big enough community on this BB, that if someone is selling something, there will always be someone who wants it.
If something was bought off Ebay, then not wanted, then obviously don't lose money, and offer for the price it was bought.
I have been given parts for free off board members, which I am truly thankful, and was only too glad to offer parts back.
This is what I think a "club" should be. Great, friendly, like-minded enthusiasts, only too ready to help each other out.
If we all "kept it amongst ourselves" just watch the Ebay prices fall, and then watch the queue to join this BB, they would be banging the doors down, as the parts pool could be sewn up

                        too true Stu

I hate the way ebay ruins the scene, but others on here have stuff and only sell/give to a small band of others on here not open to everyone sadly

and with the prices some bits go for on idiot land what would you price the bits at fairly, when a pair of rear lights for eg go for £250 but where bought for less than £100 is that profiteering ? I think so but they never made it on here offered for £100 to help out so called friends

for whats its worth boys, albiet only small bits, Hally now has a very nice nearside doorseal FOC and Graham John has also had a freedy. There two sides to every coin. There are people on this board that i have given over the top money to for bits. for example, and i hope Leon doesn,t mind me mentioning his name, some of you seem to forget me paying £300 for the imfamous dipstick and tube. Didn,t see Leon moaning, nor was I. One of our Scottish friends i have given premium money to for certain. Ive had regular phone call over the last couple of years being offered parts for premium money, yourve never heard me compllaining at what ive had to pay for. I know people that frequent this board who regularly put bits on Ebay... and.... another who offers a part out for a safety net, then puts it on Ebay... and....By the way, the 40k includes the price of the car. Why do people whine ??. I genuinelly cant remember being GIVEN a single part. Although i will stand corrected. And RWDRS for your knowledge, i,m not forced to sell the car. Its not a money thing. Its the right thing, it could stay in the garage, truly not a problem. And please dont go near the family thing. Why is it that certain board members seem to be able to get away with anything and others cant ????? My parts, bought and paid for. I would suggest i paid premium money for each and every part thats being sold. NOBODY GIVES ANYTHING AWAY.

by the way, ive deleted the 18k bid. So just going back to the above thread. If i gave the car away in bits, would everyone be happy now ??. I put everything i had into that car, and some of you know that. I would suggest they are the ones i care about. Sorry guys

                                "NOBODY GIVES ANYTHING AWAY"

yes they do !!! ............ (ive given away near to £800 worth of paintings away in a couple of comps on this board this year (commercially priced as) ......... cos i wanted to)

at the end of the day, its up to the individual to buy and sell whatever at whatever price they want ...... fullstop . !
