Not an Escort Question but from the same era

How many were made and how many are still out there ?

I bet somebody has all the remaining stock of cars hidden away.

Saw 1 on the RAC in Nov and could do with seeing some more

Anyone know where they are (if any are left)

I don't know Dave. They were not as popular as the Escort in their day so I don't remember seeing many about. They where rare to see in private use on the road and the only guaranteed place to see them was on the rallies. I expect many were rallied to death. I liked them and would love to have tried one out.

          Tim.

Claimed figures from Vauxhall of 450 HS's built of which some 30-40 were later modified into HSR spec.

Rumour has it that less than 400 were actually sold ?

              Hs/hsr

Hi Davie,i have a 2.3 16v HS sitting tucked up in my garage,it's a 1979 on a "v" and it's silver with the burgundy decals. I am not sure how many of them are left so if any one knows how to get this answer i would be grateful, cheers - Dave.

the rumours is widely thought that the HSR numbers for homologation were achieved by rebuilding unsold HS models as factory rebuilds, and modifying customers vehicles.
