  • Forest Arches

Could you post pics of red MK2's with arches on please, and perhaps take the time to vote on my poll.

I am seriously torn between building my car standard RS2000 or building something individual, flat front , arched etc but just road trim to my liking.

I know ultimately the decision comes down to myself but I honestly don't know on this one.

    Cheers, Paul

flat front + arches + road trim is a nice way to go, have considered this myself on more than one occasion, just need to stove the front end in first

When I was road rallying back in the eighties I always said when I pranged the front(note when not if) I would rebuild it as a flat front. Well I eventually did a full frontal, not once but twice in two weeks and it is still a droopsnoot to this day. I am glad I kept it original. I think it would be a shame to loose a droopsnoot as they are gradually droping in numbers. My call would be if you want a flat front with arches just for the road buy a non RS and do it to that and keep the RS2 standard.
Just my opinion for what it's worth
Good luck with whatever you decide
                Phil.

                  Agreed

However I bought an already converted RS2 :

It's a T reg pre custom in Venetian red , used to have a BVR, has had new genuine inners and a weld in multipoint SD cage, 6 links, skids, gusseted, double skinned bulkhead, Gartrac arches etc.

One day it will hit the road, I've been collecting nice bits for it since I got it (can't remember how long ago now )

2.2 HT Pinto, throttle bodies, SCCR 5 speed Tran-x, H/D straight prop, new F+R bumpers, coil overs all round, new lamps all round, Ford fibre glass rear spoiler, Corbeau bucket seats, stack dash, 8x13 & 10x 13 split rims etc etc etc.

I would prefer to have done all this to a mint std shell, but this came up at a bargain price years ago so I had to have it
                  Cheers Rob.

Ruddy, flat front and arch it, then when it is done you can run me over and I will die a happy man.......

Rob, how much will it cost for you to lock me in your garage and turn the lights off for an hour or two....

I would be inclined to keep the snoot as too many dissapearing, but however, i think that you have to do what what your heart feels. only you can decide what will make the car suited to your spec.
whatever you decide best of luck with it.

keep the droop snoot, especially as it will be a road car.

the black beastie wil retain its 'nose',

however, only you will be able to decide with your own car,

                            good luck with the choice,
