Correct but a new inner wing has no chassis number on it either

New RS top plates are available

There are people out there who provide a stamping service upon production of a driving licence and the vehicles V5

And I hear they look very good to

My yellow RS2 is fitted with a service shell, as proved by the body colour chassis plate which has Ford parts Daventry on it.

The top plate is without a Chassis number
      Cheers Rob.

mine has no chassis no stamped, reasoned no number would be better than ****y ones in wrong size after replacing inner wing top. she's also on a sevice shell.

The place where I did my apprenticeship put a complete new front end on a Terracotta RSII, and we smacked the chassis no. into the new panels, i.e. you will never know for sure.

I would personally never entertain a car with no "build plate" or chassis plate, because as we all know these cars are easy enough to fake, but no "build plate" is very dodgy, suggesting bought V5's etc etc, although it was the practice of some body shops to just fling stuff like that in the bin when replacing front panels, I'd be very cagey about missing stuff like that, as it makes a few thou difference in the price if not the real Macoy

This was the RS2 I viewed:

Find and buy your perfect used cars with PistonHeads Classifieds, the easiest and most powerful used cars search around.

Few things put me off it,needed welding to pass sill, cracks with rusty stains running from them on A pillars, all yellow paint on underside cracked and peeling off revealing the surface rust they had painted over ,strut top plates had been 'smoothed' over into inner wings, wings were welded to scuttle panel, rear arch lips had been totaly cut off, various rust bubbles on body work.
Had £8000 spent on it four years ago

Will post pics/link to the mex once I have viewed it!

The above RS2000 has appeared on E-Bay now, just a warning incase its anyone on here bidding on it!!!!
