Lee, the details for membership are not the same as having your car registered, the details given on joining or renewing simply allows you full or associate membership. Registering your car means that the cars details are kept on record and its history can be tracked as and when it changes hands and new owners register.

Plus you get a free sticker ..............

this is a common problem, i think it was sugested that a note in the membership pack etc to ask the member to contact the registrar for his/her marque to enable the car to be registered, i expect theres alot of people unaware of this proceedure

they dont have one as you know but not everybody shows there cars not everybody has been lucky enough to own a show winning car or have the money to produce a show winner like i said when paul was elected i will support him in his roll if he needs my help but im not joining till i get more than a sticker i dont think im on my own that is why so many members have not joined for years need good feed back i was a member 12 /15 years ago and rejoined about 2 years ago it was not very good for mk2 then just trying to be honest .

Having your MKII registered with The RSOC is the only way that you will receive an RSOC valuation for insurance purposes.

ALL MKII RS's can be registered whether they are daily users, race, rally, concours, modified, there is NO minimum standard that the car has to be.

I hope you will reconsider your membership as 2008 promises to be an excellent year

Registering your car is not compulsary, you can choose to opt out if you so wish, dvla dont keep pictures on file do they? they just show names and addresses of the owners.

Paul is trying to build a confidential database of the cars in the club and as Dave has said, they dont have to all be minters.

Unless you join the RSOC you will never get anything out of it, obviously planning some events for next year and RSOC members will get first shout, M-Sport tour, rolling road shootout, stands at Classic Car Shows (Tatton Park weekender, Goodwood ,Rallyday), magazine features etc. The RSOC won't change overnight all you can do is join and take part.

As Neil says the register is a confidential source of statistics, once I have it and can review it I can hopefully work some data for Rallye News.

                                cheers, Paul
