Hi everyone,at the moment i use a 1999 rover 400 2.0 t.d as a commuter doing about fifty miles a day but i was thinking of maybe buying something a bit more interesting and more importantly rear drive so was considering a 1989 ford sierra 2.0 dohc and was just wondering what peoples opinions were on whether the ford with 88000 miles will be as reliable as my present rover with 122000 miles under its belt, any replies gratefully recieved.

I have run those Sierras to 150,000 with no issues. They get a bit jumpy when cold, but that is only for a short time. I bought one for my sister a couple of months ago. 2.0 GLS 1989 with tax and test for £100.
I love Sierras and have no time for Rovers so it is a biased opinion! 2.0 DOHC should have a timing chain at 100k but when the car is £100 who cares if it goes bang!sigpic Blob
24 Hours in a day, 24 Beers in a case... Coincidence?

I've changed gaskets (and chain at the same time) then fitted a s/h Engine, and then another s/h Engine.
Car got scrapped in the end.
The Cosworth causes me fewer worries than the 8v DOHC did
