      Just a mo. That alternator fitted on the Allegro would have been made by Lucas, which were fitted to many makes at that time. Not the Allegros fault, sorry.

          try telling my old man that when he had to walk to find a phone box to get us sorted, and my non existant bank balance that was raided to pay for it!!!!! It used more oil than petrol and eventually the clutch went in the middle of town, that's when i decided to trade it in for a proper car!!!!

                      A mate of mine twenty plus years ago owned one.Both went out one morning to go to work and the car suspension n had sunk on one side.He had to get it pumped up at a local garage.
