  • sad day

i know pete has posted a similar thread on the rsoc bb in the dorset bit, but i feel its worthy of a mention on here as well.

A long good friend who has owned a RS1800 since the early 80s has regretably sold it, the new owner picked it up yesterday, phil actually had to escort him out of weymouth as the owner didnt know the route a strange site as hed never seen the 1800 being driven by someone else.

I sensed a tear was shed after talking to phil yesterday, what made it worse was his sons said to their dad i wish you hadnt of sold it, phil never knew their real thoughts, as if he did he would of sold the tommi mak evo.

Hope the new owner enjoys the car....not a bad first trip in the old car 600 plus miles back home , look after it please.

    difficult decisions

    cheers dave

it's only a car, he was lucky enough to have owned two such cars, I wish I'd had an 18. Not being churlish or owt but if you get seriously ill, you'd be happy to give the car away just to be healthy again. As sad as it is to sell summat that you've had for so long, I'm sure he'll survive and the money he got for it will no doubt ease the pain somewhat

Pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking.

I shouldn't have thought anyone forced him to sell it, and the 30'000+ pictures of the Queen should be enough to dry the moistest of eyes and put the smile back on his boat-race...
