I have just recently listed some items on Ebay which finished on Sunday evening. I posted 70% of the items on Monday and every item was recieved on the following Tuesday.

I am now left with a problem posting the remaining items. I have advised the remaining winning bidders that I am going to hold back posting their items until next week.

My message is the Royal Mail offers a great service IMO. I just hope the guys and girls waiting for their parts are happy to wait.

I have had a couple of items not turn up thanks to the jolly old PO, so I'm not quite as enamored with them as yourself, one lot at £40 and one lot at £50 which might not sound the earth, but it's the best part of a ton gone AWOL, and I'm not three pleased.

Compare to freight services over here (Germany) and I have never had any of the stuff I've sent lost, including two sets of 7's to the UK. Not to mention the difference in price, just under €60 to send said 7's to UK is pretty cheap, you'd be lucky to get one sent over here for that money never mind 4.

The issue of insurance is dodgy too, as the PO don't offer proper cover for the packages (here a €500 cover is included in the price) and often say out of the kindness of their hearts they'll refund you up to a certain (small) amount and the rest is your problem, not much use if thanks to their incompetence you have to stomach £200-300 loss.

Ive lost 2 items going to the UK from here a like new oil pipe to Gaz W and the door handle clips to Emily , then they lost my sons 2 birthday prezzies only last month sick of them

Sorry, but most agency staff work harder than our posties.
The CWU is very hardline in London and they want more money for doing bugger all; the big mouth staff are some of the most bone idle but they always seem to be the ones on the picket-line saying how hard they work. If the job was so badly paid why have most done 20-30 yrs, truth is they wouldn't last 5 minutes in the real world where they would have to work.
