As many of you know my Transit got written off earlier this year (21st March to be exact) and I've been without a van since.
I've lately been getting withdrawal symptoms, for example; all the back seats are out of my Galaxy, and I've been using it like a van, which isn't really a good idea as it's got a light beige velour trim, the old blankets have sort of protected the carpet (also beige).
I was at my mate Andys workshop last week, he used to have RS's years ago and had cleared out the remaining few bits from a lock up, and kindly got me to take them away
While I was there I started looking around his Transit(s), an old H plater, and a 1996 "Smiley" front Custom, I know Andy is always up for a deal so we got talking.
So, this week I will be collecting a 1990 Transit LWB, Semi high top, twin rear wheel Transit (in white), including the Custom trim out of the Smiley front.
Best part of all - The H plater is a 2.9i manual 5 speed with PAS, originally specced for Essex Police but never delivered, instead it was used by Trimoco Ford Chelmsford as a parts delivery van, and is the pretty much the same spec as a Boreham service barge !! Even down to the excellent Essex registration number
I feel Ford Motorsport stripes and a big roofrack coming on
Fuel consumption approx 15 to the gallon, Smiles per mile - Oh yes
