I am watching this thread with interest

Sometimes an independent BB can be usefull for "awkward" questions that may not be welcome by other BB admin.

Whilst sometimes a tad heated but by now means personal or slagging off this thread can stay

BUT

Should Alminera, MexicoMark, Smudger or any other person affected by the thread send me a "report this post" notification if they feel thread has gone too far etc then I will gladly lock if I agree with the reasons for reporting in the first place.

We are all sensible people and I do not run a nanny state as some BB admin/moderators feel they have to.

I don't do the appointments and I told you the truth in April, sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear. I'm sure if you make your intentions clear AND you are a member (an essential requirement) all posts are available each AGM.

I really don't intend getting into a ****ing contest about who does what for the club mate, so I'll not go there if you don't mind!

Steve, I only heard about the post in mention on the day I contacted yourself.
I suppose that is one advantage to being a member for myself. I'd have known a lot earlier...!!!

As for who does what..... I'm not really bothered, but you were trying to tell me about what goes on behind the scenes.
I'm trying to help the club in my own way as & when I can.
I'm an enthusiast first .. always have been always will be ...

As for locking the thread I don't see the point myself.
Surely we can express our views as adults ..?
I see Steve (smudger) as a mate & respect his views as I hope he does mine.
It doesn't mean we have to agree or fall out with one another.

I haven't been offended by anything said on here and I don't think I've posted anything offensive myself. There's no falling out, we're just having a bit of banter with slightly serious undertones. No need to lock imo.

I knew as soon as I posted I was in for a bashing. It seems par for the course if you are a club official nowadays, so you have to take the rough with the smooth. If I wasn't prepared for it, I would have kept my head out of the firing line but I felt there was another side of the story to tell.

I know these decisions (or opinions) don't suit everyone, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made which don't go down well with everyone. My only wish would be that people didn't jump straight on the offensive by knocking the poor sods who have to make them, it's sometimes a case of you are damned whichever way you go.

As someone else has pointed out, life is too short to get all heated about things like this but I think it's healthy to have these little debates.
