This is your chance to sit beside Mull’s Calum Duffy, one of the country’s top Mark 2 Escort drivers. Enter a unique raffle, win a place in Team Duffy and find out what really happens in a successful rally team.
The place up for grabs is the navigator’s seat in the 2008 Mull Forest Stages Rally on the Isle of Mull on Sat 26th January. Now in its third year, this is a very fast and tricky event run by Mull Car Club.
Calum Duffy won the 2007 event, having campaigned Ford Mk II Escorts for well over 10 years. He is one of the most talented and entertaining drivers on tarmac with 4 Tour of Mull Rally victories under his belt. 2007 saw him take on his first forest event and take home his first forest trophy.
Rallying is the Duffy’s blood. Calum started his rallying career with his father, Hugh. His younger brother, Del usually takes the navigator’s chair but has decided to sit this one out, offering an experience of a lifetime for the winning ticket. To join Calum in pole position, all you you need to do is enter our raffle draw. There are 500 tickets available at £20 each with the draw due to take place in Dervaig on Monday 15th October, following the 2007 Tour of Mull. The winner will be selected at random. A rally suit and helmet will be provided as part of the prize but the winner must hold or attain a Navigator’s license to enter the event.
The proceeds of the raffle will go to Dervaig’s Bear Cub Rally Team as a contribution towards their rallying future. The Bear Cubs are a group of local children, who with the guidance of Mull rally veteran Steve Davies, have built and race their own rally car. North West Mull Community Woodland Company Ltd, a local community-run company managing West Ardhu and Langamull woods on the Isle of Mull are also set to benefit from the raffle proceeds with the remainder of the funds going towards some of Calum’s rally costs.
To get your tickets for this unbelievable chance just send a stamped self addressed envelope with a cheque made payable to NWMCWC Ltd to Rally Raffle c/o Penmore Mill, Dervaig, Isle of Mull, PA75 6QS or look out for them in around the Isle of Mull.
Keep in mind what you are entering!! Calum won’t be holding back and wants nothing more than to retain his title, so be warned… this is not for the faint hearted so GOOD LUCK!!!
