  • A Big Big Thank you

To all of you that has sent texts and left messages, Sorry I havn't replied to all of them as secretly texting in my bed was banned after a while. Again, Many thanks as they made me feel a lot better and some made me laugh.

I am now at home as from this morning and am not feeling too bad, I have just got to basically do nothing for a few weeks untill the doctors find out why this has happened. So, Expect me around here in the daytime again.

What actually happened was half way through our set at Santa pod on Sunday night I lost feeling in my right arm and hand with my leg also feeling heavy. I carried on till the end as I had no idea as to what had happened. After the set I threw up a few times then felt rather vacant and like I had been on a big drinking session. (Only had 1 can of stella all day as I was driving home) I packed up my stuff and then drove home. The drive back was one of the scariest things I had ever done as it felt like I was watching myself driving from above.....Good job it was 3 in the morning and there was almost nothing else on the road at the time. If I had known then what I know now there would have been no way I would have ever got behind the wheel.

I arrived home and Helen was having a fit at me. I was slurring my speech at this time and just collapsed into bed. I had arranged the Nottingham RSOC club stand at the Thoresby Classic Show on the Bank Holiday Monday but Helen said I must have been Ill as I said we wasn't going to go. Rodders came round to collect the tickets and I went back to sleep.

We ended up paying the show a visit in the afternoon but didn't take the Mex. I felt bad from the moment we got there so took advice which was given to me by most of the group and went straight to A&E.

I was admitted there and then and was told I had suffered a Small Stroke. This absolutely shocked and upset me as 40 year olds in relitively good health don't suffer such things as a rule. My mother died of a stroke 6 years ago and I can see what they can do to people. I was scared to say the least.

I spent nearly 3 days in the hospital having various tests dome IE CT Scan, blood tests etc. All have come back clear which is a HUGE relief to me and my family. I was supposed to be staying in till the weekend but I was still in the Acute Medical Unit awaiting to be transfered onto a ward. I was bored to death on there and also witnessed a woman in the bed opposite die so That was it...I wanted to go home. I was released under strict instructions which I will be following to the letter. I still have to go back for some more tests and an MRI scan on my head and neck in a week or so.

I have been banned from driving for a month which is not good so that's it this year for the Mexico...Night night. I obviously wont be coming to Croft which I was really looking forward to. So I hope all of you that go will have a great time and hope the weather will be kind for once.

I will try and make the Rally show at Chatsworth but will need a lift....hint,hint.

Once again, Thank you all very much from both myself and Helen, It's great to be part of such a great group of people.

            great news.

spoke with kev just after he posted this and spirits were high,

            Welcome back.

apparently Helen suspected he was improving when the nurse brought him a drink last night

Kev is now looking forward to having some rest and getting his 'count' higher than Bri's on the BB

im sure we are all relieved for kev, Helen and the 'ankle biters'
