Due to head gasket going on my truck water into oil

6 cylinder Cummins 5800cc Diesel

Many thanks to Chalky H for the repair manuals a great help with torque settings etc

Had to have valve seats re-cut - well it has done 425,000 Kms

Valves reground and re-profiled - 4 new inlet valves needed - spent a day grinding 12 valves into head new stem seals fitted

After bleeding fuel system tonight it started on the second turn of the key

Finish it off tomorrow

3 days to road test

Then load up for Croft

Ahhh - did the easy start method get it going - always found that to be handy on the old Tractors I sometimes repair for my landlord

They do bang a bit on ether don't they

Bought a Transit that had been standing for months earlier this year with Mogsmex, the only way to get it going was to juice it up with easy start, banged like **** until it bled the diesel up

went to a excavator today and it had exploded big time due to easy start. never a long term solutition
