just want to take it to rs meets and cruises and move in them circles and possibly do up as i go along, just wanted something half tidy, i have heard that some people have spent 10 - 15 k upwards to do up !! cracking cars but out of my league, maybe one day, dont suppose the tax is free because of age of cars ??

clutch is the same ,but you need to move the gearbox mounts back,involves drilling the spot welds out and re welding them further back.or you can get some blocks made and just ease the tunnel out a "wee bit".same prop etc goes.need longer spedo cable.i have done both before in the many rs ive owned

Like you say mate, the main thing is you have got one now which you can improve on as time goes by , most MK2's have little areas of concern and being able to work on them easily is all part of the fun. If its roadworthy get it used, meet up with the RS lads around your area, take advice from them and then do what needs doing. Keep the positive attitude and you'll love the MK2 scenesigpic

Just ordered a 5 speed type 9 for mine.... Keeping the 4spd knob though. Just can't put up with the 4000 rpm 70 mph scream to the shows all the time. You will need a quick shift also or the stick hits the handbrake in 2nd or 4th. I think I am going to order mine from Rally Design.sigpic Blob
