Maybe the passion is fading and its time to move on. It is great seeing all you guys and being involved with the Kent group, it you and them that keeps me going. I even said to Julie 'I may take your car to rally day and sorn the mk2'. You get a lot of time to think 4hour drive home.

I know I'm on the Hughes hit list and to be honest with you guys his attitude it a small part of me wanting to move on.

You may read between the lines and think a car is coming up soon, you could be right.

U need to get your self a stripped out shitter, and pour all your good performance gear into it and hit the trackdays.......and forget all about this bufty stuff.

I myself loved working on cars....but the adrenalin at track is another level

I have been reading this thread and others of similar ilk and thought I would ad my feelings for what they are worth
I have to agree with RMinOZ
I have never been into the "Buffty" scene and never will be and I cannot really see what the attraction is.Look at Ian Parkers threads and counter comments and the other posts regarding ND they all read the same, disalusioned, fed up, RSOC politics ,corupt/influenced judging,no clear direction, poor location, shit weather ,it goes on and on and is always negative when discusing concourse .
The only positive threads are those about either full competition cars ( Rally) ,Track Days and events where you actually use the cars for the intended purpose i.e being driven.Events like Lakes Tours etc. are raved about and I think these are the way to go for "show" type cars.
As you say when the enjoyment is not there anymore and is replaced by negative vibes then you have to question why you are bothering. If people get a kick out of winning by default and being known for being up the arses of people who just like their ego's massaged then they are very sad cases.(This is not a dig at anyone on this BB )Well done IP .
Do what you want and what you will get the most personal satisfaction from.
      Todays lesson here endeth
      Cheers

        Kel,

I have thought a few times about getting rid of my MK1, I haven't used it in ages, and really got fed up with the bufty scene long ago, I did enjoy showing it in displays though instead of competing for a trophy.

I never put it in concours at National day as I always figured that spending the day cleaning really fecked up one of the best social days of the year.

But I decided not to sell and see how I felt after a while, I am glad I did, even though it's not doing anything (for now) I still have it, and now plans are afoot for some changes to get it exactly how I always wanted it.

I am then going to enjoy it for what it is..... a car,
I am sure I will show mine again once it's done, but I have never taken concours too seriously so it will be on show because I wanted to drive to an event,
instead of going to events just to clean it then put it on show, (hope that makes sense).

Don't make a hasty descision, keep it for a while and just enjoy it for driving, dont only go to shows, go for sunny weekend blasts, or drives to the coast.
You should make sure you really don't want it anymore before letting such a nice car go

and if you can, then get something else for thrashing around a track too, then you have the best of both worlds
        Regards
