    Well said Hally.
It has been going on for years, wrong classes etc.
But to get more cars they need to sort it out.
I can remember a time when my friend judged the Escort Cos's when they were new to the shows.
One car he judged had all rust on the under side and many faults and the owner had not spotted.
But it is wrong to group all the cars together.

Not just MK2 boys not happy , copied from RSOC BB

" it has now been decided that mr and mrs crazy will not be entering concourse next year, cheers i hear some of you cry!!!
after much deliberation we are hanging up our bufty boots

after rockingham yesterday we came away from the show totally disheartened

at the start of the year at santa pod we did enter the car a bit with our eyes shut thinking she was a minter, it now turns out no matter what we do to her she will never be a winner
we had taken on board all advice given by the few helpful people and started the long expensive journey to make her a better car.
after each show we tried to improve on the points picked up by the judges and went to the next show hoping for a better place in the ranks but to no avail. we were told that our underside was nowhere near good enough so 3 weeks of hard work later she was like a new pin underneath all new nuts and bolts all bits powder coated new suspension front and back etc etc
we were told we had been losing points for our interior, so we bought a near mint cloth interior which we sported yesterday!!! we also lost points on our carpets, so after an hour with my brothers industrial carpet cleaning machine the carpets i thought anyway were mint???? obviously not!!!!
we were told our windsreen had some chips in so rac windscreens to the rescue with a brand new screen, again to no avail!!!
we have one-off new big wheel (sported yesterday) and were told that if it hadnt been known they were literally brand new we would have lost marks for them?? whats that all about????
we understand that the paint in our engine bay needs some work, that was the intention over winter and that our stainless really does need chroming as it is not as bling as the other cars, we do understand these points.
we just cannot understand how we still are being beaten???
NOW, NO DIRESPECT GIVEN HERE, but yesterday jase (L3 COS) openly admitted that he hadnt polished his car, taken the wheels off or even hovered it, so how come after all our new stuff and three and a half hours cleaning did we still get beaten??????
to be fair jases car is a minter we know that but we just DONT UNDERSTAND

WHATS WRONG WITH OUR CAR???? WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG????

it has now been decided that no matter what we do to her that we will never be GOOD ENOUGH for concourse so are hanging up our cleaning cloths and polish
it has been decided that obviously OUR FACES DONT FIT and that no matter even if we got in docs back to the future car and bought a delivery mileage escos from 1994 straight off the line from ford WE STILL WOULDNT WIN!!!!!

        anyway winge and moan over
thanks to all the people who have helped us improve L4 cossy but at the end of the year she will be becoming a group stand car
so instead of gaing another concourse car you will be losing two "

feel sorry for you wayne as all the effort was really for nothing, as said a 5000 mile car will have the edge to start with over a 25 year motor

btw car looked great and the bufty crew done you proud

I agree Dave, its difficult, because numbers are dwindling, is it because "new blood" arent interested so much in old school and possibly havent the inclanation or knowledge to get involved with anything RWD. Also the older generation now not being so bothered with it all, having caught colds before so to speak. The old school scene does appear to be dying a death unfortunetly. The only cars in abundance are the modern generation of RS,s. It certainly isn,t fair to put a 25yr old car against a 5yr old car. However, i,m sure nobody would want a cup for just turning up. I,m only just starting to appreciate the blood, sweat and tears required to just show the car, that alone achieve anything. The answer is very difficult. I think if the RSOC needs to rekindle the spirit of what i thought the club was about, they need to bring someone on board that has genuine interest and enthusiam for the old school scene, someone to relight the candle so to speak. Because at the mo, in my eyes, it aint happening. I,m only motivated at the mo because of my youthful enthusiam for Worthers, again, i,m not too sure how long that will last. The RSOC needs to take a long hard look at what it wants to achieve, then move it forwards positively.
